Hon Dalmas Otieno, Minister of State for Public Service awarded the winners in the various categories. Other guests present at the ceremony included Mr. Joseph Kinyua, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance as well as MDs, CEOs and GMs of renown organizations within the country.
It was a time to celebrate excellence in ICT, excellence in innovation which and amply encapsulated in this year’s theme: “Pushing the Boundaries of Technology Innovation and Corporate Excellence.”
According to CSK officials, this year had a very high standard of entrants for the awards and it was extremely difficult for them to choose the winners for the various categories. The selection process involved an initial analysis phase that resulted in nomination and short-listing of major contenders in each award category. The analyst team conducted detailed research and assessment on market performance of companies’ criteria including revenue growth, market share in specific category and growth in market share, demonstrated leadership in new product introduction and innovation, breath of products and solutions, major customer acquisitions, subscribers and growth in subscriber base, and business/market strategy. The findings of this analysis stage were tabled to a 7-member independent panel of judges (IPJ) who decided on deserving award recipients.
EIM Solutions was recognized in the E-Government ERP Solutions category which is an award given to the firm voted best in offering quality and effective enterprise resource planning solutions. This is a category whereby the company is voted by the public via the CSK Official Website.
The CSK has registered over 3000 IT practitioners out of a total of 4500 (66%) over 500 IT Solution Providers out of a total of 900 (55%) and accredited over 600 academic institutions out of 1200 (50%).
It is the recognized association for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry and professionals in Kenya, attracting a large and active membership from all levels of the IT industry and providing a wide range of services to its 6000+ members. Established in 1986 and originally known as The Computer Institute, the society attained its current name in 1994. It is a member of the World Information Technology Services Alliance (WITSA) and the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa.
The CSK is the public voice of the IT profession and the guardian of professional ethics and standards in the Kenyan IT industry, with a commitment to the wider community to ensure the beneficial use of IT.
